Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 23, 2026

1. Introduction

WearIt (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website wear-it.io and the WearIt virtual try-on platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service. WearIt is operated from Switzerland.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication data (via Google OAuth or magic link).
  • Photos you upload: images of yourself that you submit for virtual try-on processing.
  • Payment data: billing information processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number.
  • Usage data: credit consumption and account activity.

3. AI Processing of Your Photos

Our core service uses artificial intelligence to generate virtual try-on images. When you upload a photo, it is sent to Google Gemini (our AI provider) to generate the try-on result. Your photos are processed solely for the purpose of delivering the virtual try-on service. We do not use your photos to train AI models. Generated images are stored in your personal library and are not shared publicly.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the virtual try-on service.
  • To manage your account, credits, and subscriptions.
  • To process payments.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g., magic links).
  • To improve the service and fix bugs based on aggregated usage data.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on: (a) your consent when you create an account and upload photos; (b) the performance of our contract with you (providing the service, managing subscriptions); and (c) our legitimate interests in improving and securing the service. Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

6. Data Sharing & Sub-processors

We share your data only with trusted sub-processors necessary to operate the service:

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL) — database storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Google (Gemini) — AI image generation for virtual try-on.
  • PostHog — product analytics.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our sub-processors operate outside of Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Your data may be transferred internationally as part of the normal operation of the service.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded photos and generated images are kept in your library until you delete them or close your account. When you delete your account, all your personal data is deleted immediately.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
